Research Presenter @ Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Conference – New Orleans, Louisiana.
As part of my OBGYN rotation with Dr. Marchand, I was able to be a part of a research paper. Our research presented paper a tool to be used during a hysterectomy. This tool allows for better prevention of injury during the dissection of the uterus. This years conference was held in New Orleans. Most of the presenters were physicians and only a couple of medical students. WUHS Graduate, Katelyn Sainz and I were chosen to present our research at this years conference alongside many other exceptional researchers. At this conference the presentations were to be in a video format; however, I was not a part of the surgery that was filmed for our presentation. The panel of judges were very pleased and interested in our research; they asked some questions pertaining to the procedure. It was a great experience and one that will continue to help me with future medical research projects.
