Message from the Executive Dean.
Welcome to Washington University of Health and Science ( Belize ) . Our faculty, staff, and students welcome all those who possess a servant's heart, a scientist's curiosity, and the desire to improve the lives of others through the practice of medicine.
I am delighted to welcome you to the start of this academic year. For those of you who are new to the School of Medicine on behalf of our entire university, I extend an extra warm "welcome!" and look forward to meeting you soon. To those of you who are returning, welcome back! I hope each of you had an enjoyable break and found some time to reflect and recharge.
We have much to look forward to this year. Beginning in September, we will be resuming our Dean's Series and, among other university-level events, we can look forward to a series of health science center-wide seminars and special events that are being organized by WUHS.
As you embark on this next leg of your academic journey, whether you are new to WUHS or a returning student, I encourage you to keep your "why" in focus this year. For some of you, your "why," or your purpose, might still be in its developmental stages, and that's okay. We are here to help you find and shape it into something that is unique to you. Regardless of what led you here, please know you have chosen Medicine at a time when its significance to the world couldn't be greater.
I look forward to connecting with each of you this year and wish you all the best this semester.
Executive Dean
Dr. Javier Zuniga
