Academic & Career Counseling
Every step of the process, academic and professional guidance is offered by our teachers and deans. You'll get suggestions and direction that will help you through medical school.
Financial Counseling
There are grants and scholarships available for students who demonstrate academic excellence or who are struggling financially. For individuals who achieve well academically, we provide payment plan alternatives and a range of incentives.
Mentorship
At WUHS, we offer mentorship in a variety of formats. Each student participating in peer tutoring is paired with a faculty member who will guide them through the fundamental sciences. The professor will assist the students each semester by acting as a career advisor and mentor.
Webinars
All year long, our associate dean for postgraduate education, dean of clinical sciences, and dean of the school of medicine all conduct webinars. The content covered in these webinars covers a wide range of subjects, including advice on how to prepare for residency, strategies for aceing medical licence examinations, what to anticipate during clinical rotations, and much more.
ER & Doctor Visit
We have a working relationship with a doctor in the area who treats all of the instructors, staff, and students at Avalon. In the event that a student needs medical attention, we will work with the treating physician to arrange transportation to and from the scheduled visits.
Mental Health Counseling
We have a contract with a licenced psychologist who offers discreet therapy to students who may be struggling with the pressures of medical school. To succeed in medical school, any obstacles may be solved with the assistance of the school psychologist.
Immigration
All students will receive assistance from us in getting their Curacao travel visas after they have been accepted into WUHS. The incoming students are transported to the immigration office once they arrive in Curacao so they may finish the steps required to get their residency permits.
